BMR491: includes highest power density isolated DC/DC converter
There have been a few key variants of the new BMR491 series. Aimed at deployment in next generation data centers striving to meet increasingly stringent efficiency benchmarks, these advanced converters include versions that leverage our proprietary hybrid regulated ratio (HRR) technology. For example, earlier this year we announced the BMR4910204/852 converter that is capable of delivering an output power of up to 1300 W continuous and has 1850 W peak power for a period <1s. It supports 97.6% efficiency at 48 Vin at half load.
More recently, a quarter brick isolated DC/DC converter delivers up to 2450 W peak power for periods of up to one second, with a continuous output power rating of up to 1540 W, thus making it the highest power density digital DC/DC isolated converter available today. Find out more about this here.
Flex Power Designer now supports AMD-Xilinx Power Estimator
Flex Power Designer software included a practical reference design tool for AMD-Xilinx-based FPGAs (field-programmable gate arrays) in its latest update. Believed to be a world-first, it is a major breakthrough for design engineers who want to streamline the development of products that use AMD-Xilinx-based FPGAs, which have emerged as the dynamic processing platform of choice for a host of innovations requiring intelligence and adaptability. AMD-Xilinx Virtex Ultrascale+ is the first series of FPGAs to be supported by Flex Power Designer's AMD-Xilinx Load Import tool, with more families to be added in future upgrades. BMR683: high-density digital quarter brick for RFPA applications
The BMR683, a series of digital PMBus DC/DC converters primarily aimed at radio frequency power amplifier (RFPA) applications and infrastructure for the 5G telecom market, provides indispensable monitoring functionality and control of the feedback loop to help stabilization. The device has an output power up to 500 W at 28 Vout, and an input voltage range of 36 V to 60 V. Delivering an excellent price/performance ratio, it has typical efficiency peaking at 95.5% at full load, and a broad output voltage adjustment range of 18 V to 32 V, allowing for easy optimization of the connected RF section.
PUB-2B: 2W DC/DC converter for industrial applications
The PUB-2B is a high-performance unregulated module, which provides an output power of up to 2 W with no minimum load required. It is available in single or dual output options. Housed in a compact SIP7 package, the devices achieve a high efficiency, typically up to 86% with a 12 V output under full load conditions. Isolation between input and output is rated at 4000 V. The new family of isolated, unregulated DC/DC converter modules offers output short-circuit protection and MTBF figures of 18.3 Mhrs.
PUB-2M: 2W DC/DC converter for industrial use
The PUB-2M series delivers an output power of up to 2W with no minimum load required, the high performance product is available in single or dual output options. Presented in a compact SMD (surface mount device) package for single output and for dual output, the new unregulated DC/DC converters achieve a high efficiency, typically up to 86.5% with a 12V output under full load conditions. The family of isolated, unregulated DC/DC converter modules offers output short-circuit protection and MTBF figures of 17.9Mhrs.
PUC-2B: 2W DC/DC converters for industrial use
Available in single or dual output options, the PUC-2B series delivers an output power of up to 2W, with no minimum load required. The family of isolated, unregulated DC/DC converter modules incorporates features such as output short-circuit protection and reinforced insulation. Housed in a compact SIP7 package, the new converters achieve a high efficiency, typically up to 85% with a 12 V output under full load conditions.
Ultra-miniature DC/DCs for industrial applications
Earlier in 2020, Flex Power Modules announced a series of ultra-miniature DC/DC isolating converters provide output power of up to 1W, with no minimum load required. Efficiency is typically 84% (PUA-A), 80% (PUC-B) and 81% (PUB-M) – all at full load. Input-to-output isolation voltage is 2000V (PUA-A), 6000V (PUC-B) and 3000V (PUB-M). The converters deliver the reliability and ruggedness needed for the harsh environments found in industrial applications, and have mean time between failures (MTBF) rated at 17.9 million hours (Mh) for the PUB-M, 15Mh for the PUC-B and 13.1Mh for the PUA-A. BMR480: 800W quarter brick DC/DC for telecom applications
The BMR480 0113/034 converter provides an extended input voltage range below 40Vin, as required for telecom power conversion applications. It is optimized for a wider input voltage range of 36Vin to 60Vin, compared to the standard converters in the BMR480 series. The converter also has an output voltage of 12V, which is a common requirement for telecom, and output power up to 800W (output current up to 69A). It provides 1500VDC input-to-output isolation.
